“I make sure we deliver a best-in-class level of service to our clients, including local government, lending and financial institutions, and Kiwi families. A huge lever for our success is our people, so a key part of my role as Area Manager, is ensuring our teams have the best tools, training, and development, giving them the confidence to be industry leaders. One of our greatest strengths as a business is that we have local experts in every corner of the country.”
Area Manager, Wellington
“I’m the senior consultant in Hawke’s Bay with a small but top-quality team. My job entails a lot of juggling. I’m predominantly focused on the rating side of QV, working with four councils and a regional council within Hawke’s Bay…but keeping our wonderful council clients and team happy is my biggest focus. My favourite part of what I do is the locations and places we get to go to…like the luxury Lindis Lodge in the Ahuriri Valley.”
Senior Consultant, Napier
At QV, we recognise that nothing is more important than our people and the knowledge, skills, and values they bring to their work. That’s why we encourage a culture of learning and are committed to supporting our people to keep their knowledge and skills up to date and relevant. We aim to grow our people into experts and leaders, so it’s important for us that they feel happy, supported, and confident in their role.
To support your development and career, QV invests in online learning platforms, offers a weekly learning hour, and provides study assistance to support our people.
Learning Hour is your dedicated time to learn something new every week. It’s about making a weekly habit to learn, upskill, and keep up with industry trends or movements. This involves on-the-job, online trainingshadowing a senior valuer, being mentored, reading, or teaching. We want you to take control of what and how you learn!
We support and assist our people through study assistance, so you can take part in university or equivalent courses to develop your role and ultimately further your career with QV.
“I’m a graduate valuer in the Hamilton branch and I’ve been involved with ratings maintenance, valuing subdivisions, building consents and doing objections. My favourite things about working at QV include the amazing work-life balance – comes in handy being a father; our office has a very enjoyable atmosphere – everyone is friendly, works well together and the senior valuers are helpful; a great learning environment and a manager who genuinely cares about the wellbeing of the team.”
Property Consultant, Hamilton
“I previously worked in the Customer Care team of QV, but my enthusiasm for new challenges and persistence in seeking to improve existing systems coupled with over 13 years’ of experience in the Indian IT education sector, has seen me join QV’s technology team as a Business Analyst. The range of work has kept me motivated, rejuvenated and going strong. I love interacting with clients and helping to resolve their issues…plus, the flexibility to work around family commitments has been a big factor in my job satisfaction.”
