Our latest QV House Price Index shows home values decreased nationally by an average of 0.9% over the three months to the end of June 2024 – a slightly larger rate of reduction than the 0.2% quarterly decline recorded for May. The average home is now worth $916,285, which is 2.8% higher than the same time last year.

Low sales volumes are causing statistics to fluctuate in New Zealand Aotearoa’s smaller towns and districts, with Stratford and Opotiki featuring among the largest average declines this quarter. Kaikoura and Gisborne saw the largest average home value increases.
